ACASE invites you to an exciting event in the evening of the 2nd November. Three speakers will share their success stories on how they tapped into the China market by utilizing millions of dollars investment from China.
At the event, we also will announce the nine finalists of 2017 Chunnhui Cup Startup Competition. All the finalists will receive a return airfare to China plus a well-organized 10-days roadshow trip to 4-5 cities in December. They may receive millions of dollars investment from China. ACASE and its partner CAPS (Chinese Association of Professionals and Scholars, Australia) provide mentoring and training program to get all the finalists prepared before the trip.

1. Mr. Joe McGuire – Airwallex Sales and Partnerships Executive
In May, three VC giants – the Sequoia Capital, Tencent, and MasterCard – jointly invested 13 million US dollars to Airwallex, a new Australian financial venture founded in 2015. The whole Australian startup hub was startled by the breaking news because it is extremely difficult to obtain such an enormous figure by a startup company established less than 2 years. The Chinese internet giant Tencent is one of the investors. In this event, Mr. Joe McGuire will share his experience on how he succeeded in the negotiation with the three VC giants.
2. Mr. Pawan Lalwani - Language Your Way, Founder, CEO
Language Your Way (LYW) is an online English education platform providing services for Chinese primary and secondary school students. LYW developed an interactive English learning approach by combining games with tutorial contents. LYW has the distinction of being the first Education Technology company to participate in the Australian Federal Governments Landing Pad program which is a 90days stint in Shanghai supported by AusTrade.
LYW is based in Melbourne but focuses on developing the English education for Chinese students. It attracted a considerable amount of investment from Chinese investors in August this year. In this event, Mr. Pawan Lalwani, the founder of LYW, will share his experiences on how to open up the Chinese market and how to deal with Chinese investors.
3. Dr. Yufei Wang – Suprag Energy, Founder, CEO
SupraG Energy was established in 2015, and its goal is to commercialize graphene technologies developed in Monash University for energy storage applications. With successfully raising fund of 3 million from a Chinese investor and patents licencing from Monash University, SupraG Energy is now devoted to advanced manufacturing and testing of energy storage devices in Australia. SupraG Energy aims at developing an innovative business model to deliver disruptive energy storage solutions by capitalizing on the various international resources. In this event, Dr Yufei Wang, the founder of SupraG Energy, will share his experience on how to communication with the investors.
