The Jiangsu-Victoria Innovation Center (JVIC) Melbourne incubator has opened on 31st August 2017 at 51 Queen Street Melbourne CBD. The incubator will provide Australian start-ups with tailored incubation programs targeting the Asian markets and access to $80 million venture capital fund.
The incubator is one of the key outcomes of a MoU signed in March 2017 between Suzhou High-Tech Venture Capital Group, the City of Melbourne, ACASE, RMIT University and the University of Melbourne. The key aims of the partnership are to strengthen collaborations in innovation and start-ups between the two countries, and assist Australian world-class research and technologies get developed in startup businesses to tap into the world's second largest and fastest-growing market.
JVIC also has a Suzhou-based accelerator, which opened in July for Australian start-ups ready to setup an arm in China.
