ACASE held its first event of 2017 at Town Hall last Saturday. The event was sponsored by the city of Melbourne and supported by the Education Office, Consulate General of the P.R. China in Melbourne.
Three keynote speakers were presented at the event: Tim Carroll from Austrade state director Victoria, Renzo Scacco from RMIT university and Tom Williams from InnovationConsult.
The Founder and CEO of ACASE, Dr. Fu delivered a report on ACASE’s 2016 summary and 2017 plan, followed by “Philosophical musing on Technology transfer and innovation” by Mr Carroll. Mr Carroll mentioned that innovation, technology and knowledge transfer and intellectual property are the key issues for an entrepreneur to understand and use to maximize him or her chance of success.
Renzo talked about the RMIT activator, which has been designed to help students grow successful start-up ventures and provides participants with real world skills in enterprise creation.
The third speaker Tom Williams introduced a entrepreneur’s roadmap, which is from inspiring , investigating, ideating, iterating to implementing and impacting.
There was a project time after the three keynote speeches and Mr Jingtao Hu CEO of TorchOne, a participant of last year Chunhui Road trip, shared their experience. Prof Alan Lim concluded the meeting.
